which do u think would win in a fight??? discuss

the first dog clearly has years of fighting experience and possesses the stern, quiet dominance of a master, but his age could prove disadvantageous when pitted against the raw power of the second dog.  there’s clearly something brutal and furious burning inside him, and he walks with a carelessness that hints at his true berserker nature.  the first dog’s technique will have to be flawless if he hopes to avoid being annihilated

I fucking hate this post. It’s fucking bullshit. Tell me, in what fucking universe do you exist in where raw anger and strength will overcome a seasoned master of fighting. No Fuck this. The first dog has 10,000 years of experience under his belt just look at that beard. The other dog is some angry stupid asshole and he will get his ass kicked. Fuck you and Fuck you for making me look at the url “shrexy”

Why You Should Be Excited For This Birdman Movie

Every year there is always this select handful of movies that release that get me as giddy as a school girl, last year it was 12 Years a Slave, Her, This Is the End and Wolf of Wall Street. This year I haven’t had any until I came across Birdman, and I’m going to tell you all the reasons why your undies should be wet from this film.

Its Biiiirrrrrrrrdddmaaaaan! - As any other 90’s kid will tell you, when we got cable, we got Cartoon Network, and it had a plethora of nostalgic gems, Especially cartoons from Hannah Barbara. One of the many cartoons there was Birdman, which honestly paled in comparison to Space Ghost and Super Friends, and was more of a snuck in between commercials type of toon that no one cared really about. It wasn’t until Adult Swim’s spin-off Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law that the character became a cult following icon. Where our hero succumbed to the end of his career to become a different man of justice, one just as laughable, one that is just as much made a joke, a lawyer.

The trailer doesn’t hint at it being remotely one of the two archetypes of Birdman. The poster makes you assume the suit and tie is Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law, but no signs of it in the trailer, perhaps they will sneak in pokes at it in scenes where our protagonist is a lawyer or does a lawyer sitcom. No matter what, Birdman made a huge success from one transition, whats not to say another angle on Birdman won’t reap the same success.

Its Smart - The undertaking of this film is a different refreshing type of beast. Its dark comedy with an extra stroke of genius. This film overall seems thematically focused at the battles of artistry and identity vs Hollywood and fame. Apples and oranges in the industry. The movie industry has develop a divide between success realms, in the notion that Hollywood is business and as so has constraints to make numbers, whereas on the other spectrum filmmakers prefer freedom to create their work as envisioned and thats what we have here. The trailer hints at an art house look meshing with hollywood norms of today. The blend makes for a smart dark comedic take on the industry.

With Hollywood plagued by nothing but Superhero comic book movies, it seems like the key to success is exactly that, rip off a comic book and viola. Smartly enough, Birdman is a hero many know, but not many are excited for, its like Aquaman, you’re happy for the little guy but then you know hes not cut out for a big budget film. Which is why Birdman was the perfect choice. Because somewhere deep down we wanted this, but knew it wouldn’t transition too well. And thats where this film bites all other super hero flicks in the butt. Birdman is a movie that is aware of itself, and the state of Hollywood movie making, and many of the stars riding the super hero train. This film is a swan song to super hero actors whose career drops in the shadow of the giant they embodied. It is a gamble I’m sure many actors acknowledge. It is the dark end of the superhero characters. Imagine Robert Downey Jr. known for nothing more than Tony Stark and haunted by having been that and only that, I can only imagine what it would do to an actor’s psyche and this movie goes great lengths to investigate this, and ultimate weld a superhero flick that is underwhelming, and where the struggle is the hero. This film is underdog all around.

Did I mention the awesome trailer! The film looks and feels exactly like a mesh of arthouse lighting and set design, and Hollywood epic CGI. Again a smartly crafted blend.

Cast - Michael Keaton is a phenomenal actor, a favorite of mine. Seeing him the lead of this film was fitting and all too good to be true. Its up for debate, but Michael Keaton was one of the Batmans to grace the big screen. Christian Bale was too raspy for my tastes, otherwise I would give it to him. Keaton brought the prefect amount of charm, and darkness as he has many times before. In the aftermath of Batman Keaton sustained a working successful career but it hasn’t exerted the kind of energy he had received prior to. Being a former superhero actor makes it perfect for him to get into the character and his troubles in this film, and having been Batman formerly, as well as an actor adored by many with seldom few appearances on big films lately his starring role here adds to the refreshing value of the film.

The cast also includes Edward Norton, Emma Stone, and Zach Galifianakis. All very talented funny people who will undoubtedly add to the dark comedic range.

Alejandro Inarritu -  I remember seeing his debut film Amorres Perros in my high school spanish class in 2006, a project that is in its own right the Latin Pulp Fiction. I absolutely loved the film, I can recall having chills when the film ended, and its works like his that inspire me to take on the next generation of filmmaking. Following that film he created the trilogy adding 21 Grams, and Babel. Gradually maturing in content and look, and telling stories better and better. Then with Biutiful he demonstrated his arthouse ability. To see his name on this project was perhaps the most exciting part. Great director, he is one of the few who get better and better with each project. I feel certain that the film will not fall short of greatness this year with Inarritu at the reigns. It will be interesting to see him try something different, and I know this will be a monumental piece.
